Nature vs. Nurture

In my research of the disorder I might (probably) have, as in, I identify with all 9 traits from the DSM, I found this. It basically says that the disorder comes from nature and nurture, and doesn't develop without one or the other. It helps knowing (maybe) where it comes from and how it developed, but I still need to know what kind of therapy will work on me. I'm a special case.

Linehan hypothesises that the disorder is a consequence of an emotionally vulnerable individual growing up within a particular set of environmental circumstances which she refers to as the 'Invalidating Environment'.

An 'emotionally vulnerable' person in this sense is someone whose autonomic nervous system reacts excessively to relatively low levels of stress and takes longer than normal to return to baseline once the stress is removed. It is proposed that this is the consequence of a biological diathesis.

Biology, eh? I guess that, what with DH's natural laid-backedness, and my freak-outedness, maybe we'll have a normal kid.
We had another fight today at lunchtime. I think DH has some issues that need a counselor, and perhaps the same disorder I do... or maybe he unconsciously mimics my screwupedness. It'll be interesting (and hard) trying to get him in to see someone, anyone. He's too afraid of what it'll look like on his military record.

On another note, it's over 100 degrees again. I'm glad the mail came early when it was a mere 98, at 1030 in the morning. Sigh.
