I have a confession to make, Blogdaddy. I learned your recipie by heart and followed it to the letter for many months, or as best I could in this new city with its comparatively icky water. (I miss mountain well water.) I used a glass pot and wooden spoon, just like you said. I stirred in the sugar while the water was warming up, let the teabags steep for a while, and even put the ice cubes in the pitcher too.
I'm sorry I've failed you.
Today I used my (horror!) automatic coffee-maker to "brew" tea. Dumped the sugar in the carafe, stuck the teabags in the coffee filter, and hit "On". Mr. Coffee bubbled away happily, not knowing the difference. At least I used the wooden spoon to stir the sugar in the carafe before pouring the tea in the pitcher.
It sits in the refrigerator, cooling. RSM would die of a heart attack.
